“Stephanie truly understands the responsibility and privilege of working in this artform and has dedicated herself to uplifting and educating fellow artists. She is passionate, inquisitive and communicates with clarity and empathy. Her ability to plan ahead and problem solve in real time makes her an incredible asset to any organization or production. I absolutely love working with Stephanie and am always looking forward to the next time.”

“I worked with Stephanie during a crazy time in my life and she always made sure to remind me that although the show is important, my well being and mental health were just and even more important. She creates a working environment where you can still feel like a human being with feelings!”

“My students and I were empowered by working with Stephanie Van Huss for our devised theatre workshop and subsequent one-act playwriting and performance. She was able to quickly connect with students, set positive expectations, and empower us to use our whole person in the medium of theatre as a communication tool. From a Social-Emotional (SEL) perspective, we gained confidence, resilience, pride, empathy, a sense of self-worth, and countless other real-world applications - it was magical. This experience brought introverted students out of their shells, it forged new leaders, it humbled the individualistic-minded, it demonstrated the power of the group, it cemented friendships, and it reminded me to never underestimate what my students can do.”

“Stephanie truly embodies professionalism and a passion for storytelling. While working as her assistant director, there was not one second where I doubted her leadership and vision for the play we were putting together. Whether working with cast and crew, myself as the AD, or school staff, she creates an environment that fosters creativity and freedom to grow as an artist. Any scene involving physical contact between actors was handled with the utmost care with all performers understanding what it means to be treated with respect. You could not ask for someone better to take the helm of a project.”

“We ran two programs with Stephanie Van Huss out of our Tween/Teen program at the New Brunswick Free Public Library: our weekly Drama Club, which Stephanie instructed; and our ALA Great Stories Club (GSC), for which Stephanie's company ReThink Theatrical, was one of our two grant partners. Both times, Stephanie demonstrated care for and expertise in weaving together dramatic education with childhood development principles and the community responsibilities of a public institution like a library. Despite being new to public library outreach, Stephanie was nimble in dealing with the ever-changing dynamics of library programming, and also served as a wonderful partner to our other granting partner for the GSC - the Rutgers’ Truth Racial Healing and Transformation Center.”
